Position Summary:Responsible for supporting the Legal Team with daily administration tasks regarding litigation processes.
Key Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):- Track documents received from courts, e.g., subrogation process, request of payment proceedings, enforcement, and insolvency proceedings.
- Use specific templates for interacting with courts within specific phases in some proceedings, solicitors, or bankruptcy administrators.
- Support administrative tasks which may involve being accountable for specific pre-litigation processes, e.g., contract review, debt settlement, etc.
- Communicate with courts, public administration, solicitors or defendants via telephone, email, or letter.
- Analyze and input legal data, e.g., courts’ payments, subrogation status, dates of specific legal stages, etc.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of high school/GED and vocational training (preferably in administration and/or legal), preferably an associate's degree in law or administration. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work experience.
- Minimum six months’ work experience undertaking administrative work, preferably in the legal industry (agencies, law firms, property management, legal departments, etc.).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good teamwork skills, particularly when working with other departments or colleagues to complete tasks.
- Good attention to detail to carefully analyze files and data.
- Ability to learn quickly.
- General computer literacy skills, particularly advanced in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Beginner or intermediate skills in case management and administrative support.
- Litigation knowledge and intermediate English level are a plus.
- Adhere to PRA CARES values and the Code of Conduct policy to the highest standards of ethics, and ensure compliance with all relevant policies, processes, and regulations.
- Highlight/escalate any misconduct against the PRA CARES values, Code of Conduct Policy, and other relevant policies.
- Obtain understanding of governance and risk in relation to the role, staying updated with regulatory changes.
- Complete all mandatory training timely.
Work is performed in an office environment with telephones, personal computers, and printers. The environment is an open workspace with individual workstations. The noise level is usually moderate. This is a sedentary position with occasional lifting of less than 11 pounds; frequent lifting of less than 1 pound; and may require standing less than 1/3 of the day.
