Accounting Supervisor

Summary:

The Accounting Supervisor is reporting directly into the Finance Manager in the region.
The role is performing and supporting all day-to-day and month-end accounting tasks in relation to GL and documentation requirements as assigned, for Spain and Portugal.
The role acts in close collaboration with the Finance Manager and as a backup for the FM.
Assist with the coordination of the monthly closing process and reporting for Spain and Portugal.
Assist with preparing supporting documentation for quarterly and year-end closing and final AUDIT.
Ensures that all journal entries and monthly account reconciliations are performed accurately, completely and within established deadlines.
Assist the statutory financial statement preparation.
Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information. Manages all accounting operations including; AR, AP, General Accounting, Fixed Assets, Treasury Management and Intercompany Accounting.
Provide ad hoc reporting as requested. Can supervise the team of AP, AR & Payroll.
Complete assigned document requests for internal/external auditors timely and accurately.
Track the progress of financial and accounting objectives.
The role needs to ensure application of policies, processes and controls to STERIS Corporate standards.
Duties:
Accounting   :
Perform all Accounting and Finance tasks as assigned by Manager. Follows the Statutory process.
Tax Filling   :
Corporate Tax annual report filling
Interpersonal skills:
Builds strong relationships with Manager and Sr Manager. People management
Integrity of Accounting records   :
Ensures the quality, consistency and reliability of the entered financial data to meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
Audit:
Support Manager, if needed, in yearly audit requirements.
SOX:
Support Manager, if needed, in yearly group SOX assessments.
Accounting Policy   :
Be compliant with accounting policies and standards across the entity.
Other:
Performs other related duties as assigned and required. Finance Manager back up. Open mind.
Competencies & Requirements:
Associate's Degree
Minimum 4 years in Finance department of a company in similar position
Operates confidently in a matrix environment
Can do attitude, plan and prioritize
Well organized individual

Experience of knowledge of US GAAP and statutory accounting process and policies, employee must possess a thorough knowledge of technical accounting practices
Standard writing and communication skill in English language
Additional European language skill
