ROLE SUMMARYThe British School of Madrid is seeking a passionate and dynamic Secondary Economics Teacher to join our team. You will teach Key Stage 3 and 4 (English National Curriculum) and Key Stage 5 (Bilingual Baccalaureate – BiBac®), inspiring students to reach their full academic potential and develop as global citizens. We are looking for a teacher who goes beyond the classroom, providing practical and engaging experiences in Economics, and contributes to our vibrant school community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Deliver high‑quality, well‑structured Economics lessons across Key Stages 3–5.
- Inspire, motivate, and challenge students to achieve their best outcomes.
- Adapt teaching to meet the of all learners, including higher‑ability and support for lower‑ability students.
- Make effective use of assessment to monitor progress and inform planning.
- Manage classroom behaviour to ensure a safe, positive, and productive learning environment.
- Act as a form tutor, providing pastoral care and supporting students’ personal and academic development.
- Contribute to the wider school community, supporting extracurricular initiatives and subject development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain the school’s Outstanding standards in teaching, learning, and pastoral care.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent, with a strong academic background in Economics.
- Experience teaching Key Stage 3, 4 and ideally Key Stage 5, with knowledge of the English National Curriculum and/or BiBac®.
- Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to engage and challenge students effectively.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for delivering Economics in an innovative, engaging way.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with a commitment to learning Spanish.
- A collaborative, proactive approach and a dedication to student development, both academically and personally.
