A well-established international British secondary school in Madrid is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Teacher of Science
, ideally with a specialism in Chemistry
. The successful candidate will teach across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, contribute to a dynamic Science faculty, and help foster a culture of curiosity, scientific thinking, and academic excellence. The ability to teach iGCSE Chemistry would be a significant advantage.

Deliver engaging, high-quality Science lessons that inspire students across KS3 and KS4.

Contribute to a strong departmental ethos built on purpose, high expectations, and a love of scientific learning.

Support the implementation of effective quality-assurance processes to ensure excellent teaching and learning.

Collaborate on the development of curriculum plans, schemes of work, and teaching resources.

Model exceptional classroom practice and support colleagues’ professional growth.

Ensure compliance with all school policies, including those for safeguarding, behaviour, health and safety, and professional conduct.

Provide appropriate work for classes in the event of staff absence and support whole-school duties as required.

Ensure that students meet or exceed progress and attainment targets in Science.

Bachelor’s degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Minimum of two years’ experience teaching Science within the British National Curriculum (UK or international).

Strong track record of excellent classroom practice and positive student outcomes.

Ability to use assessment effectively to guide planning and improve achievement.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to form positive working relationships.

Desirable:
Experience teaching iGCSE Chemistry
, subject leadership experience, or relevant leadership-focused professional development (e.g., NPQ).
