IB Spanish and Literature Teacher

SEK El Castillo School is looking to immediately hire a Spanish Language and Literature Teacher – Middle Years Programme (MYP) and IB Diploma Programme (DP)

Mission: To promote rigorous and meaningful learning in Spanish Language and Literature within the framework of the national Baccalaureate curriculum and the Diploma Programme (IB DP).

To promote academic excellence, critical thinking and intercultural understanding, ensuring that students develop communicative, interpretive and analytical skills consistent with national and international educational standards.

• Plan, prepare and teach classes in accordance with the official Baccalaureate curriculum (LOMLOE).
• Plan and develop classes aligned with the IB DP requirements.
• Design programs, teaching units and assessable activities in accordance with national academic standards.
• Prepare assessment tools, assignments, tests and activities for the development of communicative and literary competence.
• Monitor students' academic progress and keep records up to date.
• Collaborate with tutors and families to communicate student performance and progress.
• Ensure the maintenance of a suitable classroom climate and manage any disciplinary incidents in accordance with the school's rules.
• Collaborate with the DP teaching team in processes of moderation, standardization and curriculum review.

• Use active methodologies and differentiated strategies to address classroom diversity.
• Integrate educational technologies into the teaching and learning processes.
• Prepare and maintain a safe, orderly, and stimulating learning environment.
• Participate in coordination meetings, professional development activities, and other institutional events.
• Contribute to the cultural and educational development of the center through projects, extracurricular activities and student participation programs.

• The candidate must hold a university degree related to Spanish Language and Literature, and a Master's degree in teaching.
• Hispanic or Romance Philology
• Philosophy and Letters (Hispanic or Romance Philology section)
• Modern Languages
• Linguistics (with Spanish Language and Spanish Literature courses completed)
• Literary Theory and Comparative Literature (with Spanish Language and Spanish Literature courses completed)
• Humanities
• Or their current equivalent degrees:
  Spanish Language and Literature, Philology, Comparative Literature, Literary Studies, etc.

• Permanent contract.
• Full day:
  Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Immediate start.
