Duties Consult with staff, families, and community partners on student behavioral and psychological issues.
Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement interventions for struggling students.
Conduct psychological assessments to evaluate student needs and recommend interventions.
Advise student assistance teams to develop accommodation and intervention plans.
Lead professional development activities on child development, learning, and behavior management.
Implement school-wide prevention programs that promote a positive and safe school climate.
Requirements Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre‑Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.
Proof of U.S. Citizenship required.
Direct deposit of pay is required.
Two year trial period may be required.
Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
This position requires a Tier 1 (T1) investigation with Childcare Checks.
You may be required to sign a transportation agreement.
You will be required to sign a mobility agreement, be available for worldwide placement, and be willing to rotate to any DoWEA location.

Individuals hired from the Continental United States (CONUS) and their family members (who are U.S. Citizens) are required to obtain Official Passports prior to departure to the overseas area.
Qualifications U.S. Citizens.
Current Competitive Service Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA) employee or Current Excepted Service DoWEA employee.
Minimum academic preparation: A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution; at least 40 semester hours in general education; at least 18 semester hours of professional teacher education coursework. (Speech Language Pathologists, Social Workers, School Nurses, School Psychologists, JROTC Instructors, and non‑certified Training Instructors are excluded from this requirement.)
For School Psychologist: A minimum of a master’s degree; graduate level coursework related to school psychology practice; coursework must include a course in foundations of special education and disabilities; completed a minimum of 1,200 clock hours in a school psychology internship;
National Certification in School Psychology (NCSP) is required.
Foreign degrees and coursework from non‑accredited institutions must be evaluated prior to acceptance.
