Consultant (M/F/D) in the field of Sustainable Finance (Madrid, part-time/full-time)

As an Analyst/Consultant in adelphi’s Sustainable Finance Programme, you support International Financial Institutions and commercial banks in Europe and internationally in the successful implementation of sustainable finance strategies and programmes. This includes assessment of banks’ portfolios, setting up climate action strategies, implementation of credit lines for energy efficiency or renewable energy financing and the development of financial constructs focussing on resource efficiency or circular economies.

• You support our team in developing sustainable finance processes and tools, financial products, sustainable project and loan pipelines as well as market assessments.
• You contribute to projects for the development of climate strategies, risk assessments and taxonomy alignment.
• You develop concepts for innovative, participatory workshop materials and toolkits, as well as training programmes, activities, and work plans.
• You prepare, manage and follow-up on trainings and workshops.
• You collaborate with stakeholders of sustainable finance in our target countries (e.g., financial institutions, policy makers, research institutions etc.).
• You conduct research on the latest developments in the financial sector (e.g., regarding sustainable finance policies and Environmental & Social Risk Management tools) and help us develop actionable recommendations for financial institutions and policy makers.
• Based on your research, writing and design skills, you develop visually appealing publications, case studies, and promotional materials.

Further, as a colleague in our Sustainable Finance team, you contribute to the strategic orientation and development of our sustainable finance services; you help write successful proposals and participate in other business development activities.

• 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in the field of sustainable finance, acquired either in an advisory firm or in a financial institution
• A university degree (or similar qualification) in finance/economics/business (or equivalent) with a focus on sustainability and an interest in related technologies and investment projects OR a university degree (or similar qualification) in engineering/environmental technologies (or similar) with additional qualification/experience in finance/business;
• Commitment to and sincere interest in sustainable finance; high motivation to advance national and international sustainable finance agendas in direct collaboration with international and national financial institutions; good overview of recent sustainable finance trends and initiatives;
• A solution-, client-, and quality-oriented approach to work;
• Very good planning and coordination skills to manage projects efficiently;
• Creative team-player with strong analytical and conceptual skills as well as attention to detail;
• Confident and friendly appearance in dealing with cooperation partners and clients; open and engaging communication style and great interpersonal skills;
• Interest in a long-term collaboration in a dynamically working and growing team;
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications;
• Excellent oral and written expression in English;
• Excellent oral and written expression in Spanish.
