We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to focus on Mexican tax advisory and audit activities. This position will be based in the Mexico. The ideal candidate will have in-depth Mexican direct and indirect tax technical knowledge, with experience in tax audits, contributing to evaluating and advising on domestic and international business initiatives, ensuring tax compliance and audit readiness. The candidate must be able to work closely with members across a global tax department as well as non-tax stakeholder teams (e.g., Accounting, Legal, Finance) to ensure coordination and execution of cross-functional solutions that are tax-compliant and are executed with the proper controls in a scalable manner, creating process efficiencies.
The candidate must be able to provide tax advice on complex matters and communicate complex tax concepts, both in writing and orally, in ways that are understandable and useful to non-tax professionals.
- Management and coordination of Audits, Litigation and Tax Projects.
- Ensuring Key Controls and Risk Management Processes are detailed and implemented, minimizing risk and exposure to penalties.
- Overseeing the receipt; managing, tracking, of inquiries and communications to business teams and stakeholders.
- Identifying and tracking new legislation, planning and policy trends.
- Working with partner teams to conduct internal reviews and risk assessments.
- Providing Mexico indirect tax planning inputs to both local and global projects.
- Drafting tax technical memos and opinions.
- Liaising with advisors and tax authorities on matters relating to Mexico tax planning.
- Analyzing and supporting legislative changes for Mexico tax field that impact Amazon’s businesses.

Basic Qualifications- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English, and have the ability to take direction in English
- +5 YOE with Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Essbase and Oracle Financial Applications
- +5 YOE working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department
- CPA, or J.D.
