Referment is partnering with a fast‑growing European equities trading venue to hire an experienced Trading Operations Analyst to join their Market Operations team in Madrid.
This is an exciting opportunity for a mid‑to‑senior level professional to join a highly collaborative exchange environment supporting both European and US trading activity. The role provides direct exposure to market operations, post‑trade workflows, client onboarding, and trading infrastructure. As the team has recently expanded at the junior level, we are specifically seeking an experienced individual who can hit the ground running.
This role is focused on market monitoring and operational control rather than sales or trading functions.

Key Responsibilities Include- Managing end‑to‑end trade life cycles and post‑trade operations
- Monitoring European and US market activity
- Handling trade support, reconciliation, and settlement processes
- Managing corporate actions and live system changes within a production environment
- Managing reference data and market notices
- Client onboarding and connectivity support
- UAT testing and release validation
- Investigating trading‑related queries and resolving discrepancies
- Supporting MiFIDII reporting and operational controls
- Significant professional experience in market operations; this role is for mid‑to‑senior level candidates who have progressed beyond entry‑level or internship positions
- Direct experience managing end‑to‑end trade life cycles is essential for this role
- Strong experience in Equities or similar liquid markets
- Practical operational experience in trade support, reconciliation, settlement, and corporate actions
- Proven experience managing live system changes within a production environment
- Ability to work the US shift (14:00–23:00 CET) on a permanent basis
- Mandatory English proficiency at a C1 or C2 level (Cambridge Certificate equivalent) to support international clients
- All CVs must be submitted in English to be considered
- A strong focus on operational trade flows and practical problem‑solving rather than sales, trading, risk modeling, credit risk, fund accounting, or data science
- Experience in market control and operations is preferred over technical IT support or programming‑heavy profiles
- A short notice period is highly advantageous
- Strong attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment
- Excellent Excel skills
- Familiarity with trading platforms such as Bloomberg, ICE, FX Suite, or Finastra is a plus
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks like MiFIDII, EMIR, or the Volcker Rule
- Experience with in a fast‑paced Fintech or Investment Banking environment is beneficial
