THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKESantander Alternative Investments (SAI) is looking for a Professional for Infrastructure fund based in Madrid.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Professional for Infrastructure fund within the Targeted Enhanced‑Yield Infra Debt Fund, you will play a pivotal role in the origination, execution, and management of global infrastructure and energy private credit high‑yield investments. You will independently originate and analyze investment opportunities, structure and negotiate transactions, conduct comprehensive financial, ESG, and legal reviews, and manage investments including formulating and presenting proposals to the investment committee.
You will contribute to the fund’s strategy, ensure disciplined risk management and sustainable value creation, and manage portfolio monitoring, investor reporting, and stakeholder relationships.
- Originate and preliminarily evaluate infrastructure and energy high‑yield private credit opportunities, leveraging relationships with companies, advisors, banks, and asset managers across geographies.
- Undertake preliminary structuring and detailed credit, business model, and risk analyses; draft and prepare screening materials, investment committee memos, and related documentation.
- Conduct comprehensive due diligence, including financial modelling, legal review, ESG assessment, and analysis of technical, regulatory, and market risks.
- Perform detailed cash flow modelling and debt‑service capacity analysis to evaluate resilience.
- Prepare materials for the investment committee.
- Drive transaction execution, leading negotiations of term sheets, financing agreements, and ancillary legal documentation while coordinating with stakeholders.
- Implement and monitor investment‑committee decisions across fund activities, ensuring accurate and timely execution.
- Contribute to ongoing portfolio monitoring: performance analysis, covenant compliance, ESG reporting, and financial performance tracking.
- Prepare investor reporting and participate in communication, NAV calculation, and fundraising support.
- Coordinate fundraising activities for the fund.
- Collaborate with senior management on new investment strategies and thematic priorities in infrastructure and energy private credit.
- Mentor and coach junior colleagues.

Professional Experience- 10–15 years of experience investing in junior Infrastructure & Energy credit within an alternative finance provider or asset manager.
- Demonstrated track record in origination, analysis, structuring, and execution of infrastructure junior credit investments.
- Proven ability to conduct comprehensive due diligence and analysis on infrastructure credit investments.
