Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (Santander CIB) is looking for a M&A Analyst based out of Luca de Tena office (Madrid).

At Santander CIB, you will be part of a leading global investment banking platform advising sophisticated corporate and institutional clients on some of the most relevant transactions in the market. You will gain meaningful exposure to live deals, work closely with senior bankers, and build your career in one of the most dynamic sectors in EMEA. You can expect:

  • Meaningful deal exposure:
    Work on live, complex transactions from day one, with real responsibility on core analytical and execution work streams
  • Senior access and mentorship:
    Work closely with senior bankers and experienced deal teams
  • Cross‑border perspective:
    Collaborate with colleagues across EMEA and product partners to deliver integrated advice to corporates and financial sponsors
Your responsibilities will include
  • Building and reviewing detailed financial models, including operating models, DCFs, merger and accretion / dilution analyses, valuation frameworks, and sensitivities
  • Performing valuation work using DCF, trading comparables, precedent transactions and other relevant sector‑specific approaches
  • Preparing high‑quality client materials, including pitch books, strategic reviews, management presentations, information memoranda, board materials and internal approval documents
  • Supporting live transaction execution across M&A and IPO processes, including due diligence coordination, workstream management and interaction with internal and external stakeholders
  • Conducting detailed sector, company, investor and transaction analysis across EMEA
  • Monitoring market developments, valuation trends, regulatory themes and investor activity across key sub‑sectors
  • Supporting senior bankers on client dialogue, strategic analysis and origination ideas

Professional Experience
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in investment banking, M&A, ECM / IPO advisory or a similar transaction environment
  • Strong execution experience on live transactions and the ability to manage multiple work streams under pressure
Education
  • Undergraduate degree from a top‑tier university with a strong academic track record
Languages
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (Required)
  • Additional European languages (Preferred)
Hard Skills
  • Advanced financial modelling and valuation skills, with a strong grasp of accounting and corporate finance fundamentals
  • Proven ability to produce high‑quality client‑facing materials, with excellent attention to detail and quality control
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Fact Set, Refinitiv, Mergermarket, Infralogic or similar tools (Preferred)
Soft Skills
  • Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills
