The Team:S&P Global Ratings' Corporates practice assesses the creditworthiness of companies across industries by analyzing business risk, strategy, competitive position, and financial performance to support transparent and comparable decision-making. The European Telecommunications, Media, Technology and Entertainment team comprises analysts based across London, Paris, Frankfurt, Stockholm, and Madrid, covering a portfolio of investment-grade and speculative-grade corporate entities. This breadth offers analysts a distinctive opportunity to build deep credit expertise across some of Europe's most dynamic and fast-evolving sectors.
Responsibilitiesand Impact:
Team Contribution & Capability Building
- Guide and coach junior analysts and research staff, building capability in credit analysis, data discipline, and analytical tooling to reinforce consistent, high-quality outputs.
- Strengthen team productivity by creating reusable analytical assets and contributing to automation initiatives that free capacity for human analysis and judgment.
- Identify and propose workflow improvements that remove unnecessary manual steps without compromising governance or analytical standards.
- Lead end-to-end credit analysis and surveillance for assigned corporate credits, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery with clear accountability for outputs and priorities.
- Synthesize portfolio performance, market signals, and peer context into decision-ready insights that support rating committee discussions and risk assessments.
- Embed and validate generative AI and large language model tools within analytical workflows, maintaining human accountability for all conclusions and material risk judgments.
- Engage with issuer management teams and external stakeholders alongside senior team members, translating complex analysis into clear, evidence-based narratives for clients and rating committees.
- Prepare well-structured committee materials and act as a spokesperson for S&P Global Ratings when required.
- Apply methodology, confidentiality, and data governance requirements consistently, escalating issues early with clear recommendations to protect analytical integrity.
- Contribute to the responsible design and testing of automation and AI-enabled workflows, maintaining clear boundaries between what can be automated and what requires human judgment.
Required
Skills and Experience:
- An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in credit analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality work across multiple credits with limited oversight, and to coach junior colleagues through shared analytical standards and tools.
- Strong collaboration and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence through credibility and constructive engagement.
- Demonstrated credit, financial, and risk analysis skills, with the ability to link fundamental business and sector drivers to forward-looking risk views.
- Practical experience embedding generative AI or large language model tools into professional workflows to improve productivity and analytical output.
- Proficiency in analytical and spreadsheet tools, with a willingness to develop skills in data and automation platforms.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex analytical content into clear, concise narratives for senior stakeholders and rating committees.
- High standards for analytical quality, traceability, and governance, with sound judgment on the responsible use of AI tools in a controlled environment.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to automation workflow design and testing, with clear judgment on which analytical decisions require human oversight.
Experience:
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred. A master’s degree or professional certification (such as CFA) is highly valued. We welcome candidates from traditional finance disciplines as well as diverse academic backgrounds that support innovative and critical thinking. - Direct experience analyzing corporate entities in Telecommunications, Media, Technology, or Entertainment sectors.
- Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week.
- Candidates who reach the final stage of the interview process will be asked to attend at least one in-person interview at their nearest S&P Global Ratings office before an offer can be extended.
