Credit Risk Analyst

• Identify, develop, and implement capabilities to enhance customer risk assessments
• Leverage organizational data to derive analytical insights that shape business strategy
• Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, Data Privacy, and other departments
• Understand drivers of credit performance indicators and implications for trends and forecasts
• Monitor customer experience in the market
• Diagnose problems and identify opportunities for improvement
• Work with partners and stakeholders to implement improvements
• Implement risk-driven strategies to profitably grow billed business
• Reduce unnecessary point-of-sale disruptions and improve customer experience
• Collaborate with Center-of-Excellence teams developing decision science tools and risk management capabilities
• Realize digital innovation strategies that drive customer acquisition and engagement
• Interact with business partners across all organizational levels throughout the credit risk lifecycle

• Advanced degree in statistics, economics, mathematics, or equivalent experience in a similar field of study
• Fluent proficiency in Spanish and English
• Experience in developing strategic insights demonstrating data analytics
• Experience in SQL and Python
• Understanding of / experience in credit risk management principles
• Experience in unsecured consumer lending or in the payments industry
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a matrix environment
• Employment eligibility to work with American Express in Spain is required; the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions
• Successful completion of a background verification check, subject to applicable laws and regulations

Demonstrates expertise in data analytics and credit risk management, leveraging advanced statistical methods and programming skills in SQL and Python to drive strategic insights and enhance customer risk assessments. Fluent in Spanish and English, with strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments and manage multiple projects.
