Aquila Capital is seeking a Renewable Energy Asset Management Intern to join its Madrid office. In this role, you will become part of the team responsible for managing a diversified portfolio of renewable energy assets across Europe while contributing directly to the company’s mission of driving the global energy transition. You will work alongside experienced Commercial Asset Managers and collaborate with various internal teams to gain comprehensive, hands-on exposure to the financial, commercial, and operational aspects of renewable energy investments.

Throughout your internship, you will support initiatives aimed at maximizing asset performance and preserving asset value across the renewable energy portfolio. You will develop practical experience in monitoring operational and financial metrics, analyzing asset performance, and contributing to optimization strategies. Additionally, you will gain valuable insight into key project agreements and contractual frameworks that govern renewable energy investments, including operations and maintenance contracts, power purchase agreements, and financing arrangements.

• Assist Commercial Asset Managers in the day-to-day supervision of renewable energy assets and operating companies, supporting initiatives to preserve and enhance asset value
• Support the monitoring of operational and financial KPIs across a diversified renewable energy portfolio
• Analyze asset performance, identify deviations from targets, and contribute to optimization initiatives
• Prepare, analyze, and maintain financial and operational reports, dashboards, and performance analyses using Excel and other analytical tools
• Gain exposure to key project agreements such as O&M, PPA, TCMA, insurance, land lease, and financing agreements, supporting contract monitoring and commercial analysis
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling to support asset-level and portfolio-level decision-making
