The Research Technician will be responsible for supporting, carrying out, and coordinating the experimental activities of the project, ensuring compliance with its objectives.
- Animal handling and experimentation: Management and maintenance of murine colonies. Performance of experimental procedures in mice subjected to high-fat diets and sepsis models. Metabolic characterization of colonies.
- Flow cytometry and spectral cytometry: Preparation of primary samples and/or cell lines and animal tissues for spectral cytometry analysis. Data analysis using different omic software (Spectro Flow, Omiq®, and Flow Jo).
- Cell culture: Maintenance and experimentation with primary cell cultures, especially myeloid cells. Performance of functional assays (cell polarization, cytokine production, immune response assays, etc.).
- Molecular biology techniques: Mouse genotyping, nucleic acid extraction, and analysis by PCR and qPCR. Recording, analysis, and interpretation of molecular data.
- Microscopy and image analysis: Sample preparation for confocal microscopy. Image acquisition and quantitative analysis using Image
J and/or Imaris. - Continuous training and multidisciplinary collaboration: Participation in courses, seminars, and national/international conferences in the biomedical field. Coordinated work with predoctoral students and other technicians.
- Postgraduate Master’s degree in the field of biomedicine
. - Attendance at national and/or international conferences in the field of biomedicine (participation in talks, oral communications, and/or posters will be highly valued).
- Courses and/or micro-credentials (special consideration will be given to training in bioinformatics competencies, omics analysis, flow and spectral cytometry, statistical analysis using R, Graph Pad, Python).
- Special consideration will be given to a Master’s in Biomolecules and Cellular Dynamics
. - Certification for handling laboratory animals (Categories B and
C).

Additional Information Eligibility criteria- Previous work experience with murine models of high-fat diets and sepsis (endotoxemia), and metabolic characterization (GTT, ITT, PTT). Management of colonies with transgenic modifications.
- Experience with spectral flow cytometry techniques (Cytek Aurora 4L and 5L; Spectro Flow, Omiq®, Flow Jo software) and handling of primary cell cultures (mainly myeloid cells) and endothelial cell lines
. - Experience in myeloid cell depletion techniques in murine models and molecular biology techniques (PCR, qPCR, genotyping, CRISPR).
- Experience in functional analyses of myeloid cells (polarization, cytokine analysis, etc.) and experience in confocal microscopy techniques and image analysis (Image
J, Imaris software).
