Faculty of Sport Sciences and Physical Education. Monday to Friday from 10 to 13:30 h

The hiring of a researcher is intended to support specific project tasks. The hired person will mainly be responsible for technical and research duties, such as project scheduling, collaboration in experimental procedures, and tasks related to analysis and dissemination of results.

A graduate in Sport and Exercise Sciences is required, demonstrating competence and experience in recording and analysing cardiovascular and cardiac autonomic control variables: heart rate variability, blood pressure variability, baroreflex sensitivity, arterial stiffness through pulse wave velocity measurement, oxygen consumption analysis, etc. The candidate must also have experience in the design, monitoring, and study of resistance training. This requires experience using instruments for recording mechanical performance variables: linear encoders, force sensors, force platforms, contact platforms, load cells, photoelectric cells.

Likewise, the hired person must support data analysis tasks and demonstrate competence in SPSS, Excel, and R. Finally, the researcher will also be responsible for sample management tasks (contact with participants, scheduling, etc.) and supervision of interventions.

Eligibility criteria

Candidates will be evaluated according to the following SCORING SYSTEM, with a maximum score of 10 points.

Education (Maximum 4 points)
  • 4 points for a Bachelor’s degree in Sport and Exercise Sciences (score multiplied by the coefficient Bachelor’s GPA / 10).
  • 0.75 points for other Bachelor’s degrees (multiplied by GPA / 10).
  • 1 point for extraordinary award in a Bachelor’s degree in Sport and Exercise Sciences.
  • 0.25 points for extraordinary award in other Bachelor’s degrees.
  • 0.5 points per course of at least 5 hours of specific training courses in Sport and Exercise Science research or data analysis.
Participation in Research Projects (Maximum 1.5 points)
  • 1 point per project if a member of a publicly funded competitive research project at national level or higher related to the group’s research lines.
  • 0.25 points per project if a member of a publicly funded competitive research project at national level or higher unrelated to the group’s research lines.
Publications (Maximum 2 points)
  • 1 point per article in a JCR‑indexed journal related to the objectives of the group’s research projects.
  • 0.5 points per article in a JCR‑indexed journal in Sport and Exercise Sciences but unrelated to the group’s project topics.
  • 0.5 points per conference communication or poster related to the group’s project topics.
  • 0.1 points per conference communication or poster in Sport and Exercise Sciences but unrelated to the group’s projects.

The interview will assess the candidate’s mastery of the project’s subject matter. Competence in using the devices and software required for measuring and recording study variables and for statistical analyses will also be evaluated.

To be included on the waiting list, candidates must obtain at least 2 points in EDUCATION, at least 1 point in PARTICIPATION IN RESEARCH PROJECTS, and at least 1 point in PUBLICATIONS.
