ABOUT CRAG:
CRAG is an independent research institution engaged in leading-edge basic and applied plant and farm animal sciences. CRAG is established as a Consortium of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA), Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and University of Barcelona (UB). The Center is located at the UAB Campus, and currently hosts 200 members from across the world.
The Center for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG) is looking for a Postdoc Researcher to be part of the groups of Genomics of ancient crops and domestication and Rosaceae Genetics and Genomics. CRAG Researchers led by Laura Botigué and Raúl Castanera have generated a super-pangenome for Brassica and Pea, featuring an extensive representation of domestic varieties, landraces and crop wild relatives.
The candidate will be in charge of:
- Analysing SV in the pangenome of Brassica that are close to genes and may have been involved in the domestication process.
- Analysing whole genome SNP variability in a collection of Brassicas aligned to the the super-pagenome, assessing whole genome variability and identifying regions of the genome potentially under positive selection.
- Analyse Transposable Insertion Polymorphisms in the pea super-pangenome in association with known phenotypes (TIP-GWAS) and assessing the consistency in a collection of resequenced Pisum accessions.
The tasks are included within the framework of the project funded by the Horizon Europe funding scheme within the HORIZON-CL6-2023-BIODIV-01-13 Topic REFERENCE “”.TITLE COUSIN - “Crop Wild Relatives utilisation and conservation for sustainable agriculture”
