Native-Level Spanish Legal Content Writer - Higher Education

Location: Remote (Madrid-based a plus, not required)

Hours: Flexible, project-based (approx. 10-15 hours/week during the initial phase)

Vera Content is a multilingual content agency that helps global brands and institutions craft high-quality content across languages and markets. Our team of language professionals, editors and strategists works together to create meaningful stories, especially when those stories involve complex topics and specialized audiences.

We’re currently partnering with a valued client in the education sector to strengthen the website content for one of its law schools, and we’re looking for a writer with real experience in the legal field to help bring the messaging up to the level of legal professionals.

This freelance role is ideal for writers with a legal background, whether as a lawyer, paralegal, legal journalist, compliance writer or similar, who can write with real authority and precision about the law, while keeping the text accessible to readers who aren’t yet legal professionals.

About the Project

The existing website content reads as too general and doesn’t reflect how legal professionals actually write and communicate. The goal of this project is to revise and elevate the content so it demonstrates a real command of legal language and concepts, without sacrificing clarity for prospective students and their families.

This text needs to work for two audiences at once: someone considering law school for the first time (or their parents), and a legal professional or researcher who might land on the same page and immediately recognize whether it was written by someone who intimately understands the field.

Main Responsibilities

• Review and rewrite existing website content to reflect an accurate, credible legal voice
• Ensure legal terminology is used correctly and precisely throughout
• Balance technical accuracy with clarity, so the text remains accessible to readers outside the legal profession
• Collaborate closely with our internal editorial and brand team throughout the revision process
• Develop a short writing style guide capturing best practices for using legal language accurately

Requirements

• Native Spanish speaker (fully fluent in English, also a plus)
• Direct experience within the legal field (a law degree or license is not required, but hands-on experience with legal writing, documentation or terminology is)
• Strong writing and editing skills in Spanish, with the ability to adapt tone across audiences
• Experience with institutional, higher-education or professional-services content is a plus
• Reliable, detail-oriented and comfortable working through collaborative revision rounds
• Ability to attend the onboarding meeting with stakeholders
• Based in Madrid is preferred, but not a strict requirement
• Ability to attend onboarding meetings with stakeholders
