Alongside our global campuses, we also collaborate with talented contractors and freelancers from all over the world to help us achieve our crazy big goals. While we support flexible, remote-friendly ways of working, for this role we’re focusing on Madrid so we can best support our teams and keep collaboration flowing.

This role is a 6 month engagement, working full-time hours.

About the Role

As a Copywriter, you’ll craft clear, compelling, and locally relevant content for performance marketing campaigns, Meta ad creatives, high-impact partnerships and campaigns, and evergreen initiatives. Your role will require fluency in French, Spanish & English to ensure a seamless flow of messaging between markets. Collaborating closely with designers and marketers, you’ll help shape Canva’s voice in Europe and bring creative ideas to life.

What you’ll do

• Write engaging copy for marketing materials across campaigns in performance marketing, strategic partnerships, brand, events, social media, community, and other channels.
• Localize Canva’s global messaging to ensure it resonates with diverse Europe audiences.
• Ideate, write, and review content for Truly Local campaigns — spanning performance, brand, experiential, and social initiatives.
• Partner with designers, video editors, and content creators to deliver high-quality, on-brand creative assets.
• Support content development for events, tutorials, and product launches tailored to local markets.
• Use performance data, market trends, and competitor insights to inform creative direction and optimize content across channels (Meta, You Tube, Tik Tok, etc.).
• Collaborate with external partners, providing guidance and feedback to maintain brand and messaging consistency.
• Manage creative deliverables, ensuring cohesive tone, style, and quality across all platforms

As part of the International Marketing Group, our Growth Marketing team drives Canva's growth by blending global strategies with hyperlocal insights. We aim to create meaningful connections with users in Europe regional campaigns, localised moments, and evergreen creative initiatives across a variety of functions - performance marketing, brand, events, partnerships, social, community engagement and other growth channels.
