Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
- Lead the end-to-end management of commercial offers, Value base proposals, public and private tender processes for the assigned portfolio, ensuring timely, competitive and fully compliant bid submissions that maximise product access, market share and revenue.
- Design and implement contracting strategies — including hospital framework agreements, regional listing contracts and outcome-based arrangements — that secure sustainable pricing and volume commitments in line with the market access strategy.
- Build and sustain productive relationships with procurement authorities, hospital procurement teams, pharmacy committees and payer institutions, positioning Takeda as a reliable and value-driven commercial partner.
- Lead and develop a team of tender and contracting specialists, embedding a high-performance, compliant and insight-driven approach to tender and contracting excellence across the assigned geography:
1. Ability to apply AI tools, data analytics and e-procurement platforms to enhance efficiency, transparency and quality across public procurement processes — including market analysis, supplier benchmarking, tender workflow automation and contract management.
2. Able to critically assess AI-generated outputs while ensuring regulatory compliance and ethical standards. Proactively adopts emerging technologies to drive innovation and value for money.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Lead end-to-end tender management including comercial offers: monitor procurement timetables, coordinate multi-disciplinary bid teams, compile and submit tender dossiers, and respond to requests for information in full compliance with local procurement regulations and applicable pharmaceutical industry codes.
- Develop and execute contracting strategies for the assigned portfolio, including hospital framework agreements, regional and national listing contracts, rebate arrangements and outcome-based agreements, aligned with the Market Access and Pricing strategy.
- Negotiate contract terms — pricing, volumes, milestones, rebates and performance conditions — with procurement authorities, hospital groups and pharmacy networks, escalating to the Market Access / Access Lead where required.
- Lead, coach and develop a crosfunctional team of tender and contracting specialists: set clear performance objectives, provide regular feedback, manage workload and prioritisation, and build individual and team capability in line with Takeda's performance culture.
- Maintain a comprehensive tender and contract management system: track submission deadlines, contract renewal dates, pricing commitments, compliance obligations and performance milestones across the assigned portfolio.
- Analyze tender outcomes and competitor tendering behaviour; generate insights to inform pricing strategy, product positioning and future bid architecture; share findings proactively with the Market Access and Commercial teams.
- Coordinate cross-functional input into tender submissions from Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal, Finance and Supply Chain, ensuring aligned, compliant and commercially compelling bids delivered on time.
- Manage contracting risk: identify and elevate pricing-integrity issues, cross-reference contract terms against internal pricing floors and global reference pricing policies, and ensure all volume and service commitments can be fulfilled.
- Monitor the tender and procurement policy environment for the assigned geography; provide intelligence and strategic recommendations to the Market Access / Access Lead and Country / BU Leadership.
- Ensure all tendering and contracting activities comply with applicable procurement laws, the EFPIA Code, the relevant national pharmaceutical industry code, Takeda's Global Code of Conduct, internal SOPs and pricing governance policies.
- Drive the adoption of AI tools, data analytics and e-procurement platforms to enhance efficiency, transparency and quality across public procurement processes
, including market analysis, supplier benchmarking, tender workflow automation and contract management, while ensuring regulatory compliance and ethical standards.
