Financial Lines Senior Claims Adjuster

How you will create an impact- Focused on Financial Lines business, you will be responsible for a portfolio of high‑value, complex claims from coverage inquiry through legal liability assessment and quantum analysis, to timely and accurate resolution.
- Your goal will be timely, accurate and customer‑focused claim resolution, minimizing indemnity exposure and mitigating vendor and legal expense – you will actively promote and demonstrate the principles of ‘Treating Customers Fairly’ in claims handling.
- You will communicate regularly with internal and external stakeholders in your role as our Financial Lines technical claims expert and thought leader.
- As a senior member of the team, you will act as a deputy for the Team Manager, and will provide training, and be a technical referral point for colleagues.
- You will also contribute to continuous improvement in Claims by supporting Quality Assurance / Regional Audit processes, ensuring mitigation of indemnity and expense exposure while communicating developments and outcomes as necessary to all key internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong experience and knowledge as a specialist in Financial Lines technical claims topics
- Law degree preferred
- Fluent in English
- Advanced knowledge of legal / regulatory and litigation / procedural requirements for Financial Lines
- Experienced in stakeholder management, both internal (underwriting, distribution, actuarial, finance and executive management) and external (brokers, major account clients)
- Experience in negotiation, mediation, arbitration and ADR skills on higher value complex claims
- Policy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation
- A track record of following up effectively on recommendations from technical claims audits and continuous file handling improvement
- The ability to influence claims and non‑claims stakeholders to effectively direct claims strategy
- The ability to assist with technical training to the team’s claim handlers as required
- Attention to detail
- Good time management and prioritization skills
