Embat is one of the fastest-growing Fin Tech scale-ups in Europe. Founded in 2021, we are on a mission to redefine how mid-market and enterprise companies interact with their money. We don't just offer visibility; we provide the financial operating system for the modern era.
The Evolution:From SaaS to Infrastructure — we've moved beyond being a platform to becoming a powerhouse of financial services. We are building Embat One, our own banking infrastructure designed to bridge the gap between traditional banking and seamless digital operations. And with Tell Me, our proprietary AI financial assistant, we are empowering CFOs and treasury teams to query complex data and get real-time insights through natural language, turning manual reporting into an archaic memory.
TheTeam:
150+ exceptional individuals working from our hubs in Spain, UK and DACH, united by a culture of high performance and radical ownership.
The Volume:Our transaction engines handle massive, high-volume payment flows for multinationals, ensuring security and resilience in every cent moved.
The Backing:Backed by tier-1 investors including Cathay Innovation. We recently secured a €30M Series B to accelerate our global expansion.
What are we looking for? We're looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to end Embat's "army of one" dependency on infrastructure and turn Platform into a real internal product — one that engineering squads can self-serve from, instead of queuing behind a single point of failure. You'll own provisioning, delivery, reliability, security and connectivity end to end, and be the technical reference other engineers turn to.
This is a hands-on, high-ownership role: you're expected to ship the GKE migration and Git Ops rollout yourself, bake observability and SLOs into the templates other teams use, and make Embat's infrastructure choices defensible in cost and risk terms — not just keep the lights on.
Infrastructure & OrchestrationOwn infrastructure provisioning on GCP end to end, including our Terraform codebase (embat-infrastructure).
Lead the GKE migration and define an environment strategy that goes beyond just STG/PRO — dev environments are a recurring developer pain point today.
Delivery PipelinesDrive the Git Hub migration and roll out Git Ops with ArgoCD.
Remove the deployment complexity and Platform-team bottlenecks that currently gate releases.
Reliability & ObservabilityDefine SLOs and alerting, and bake observability into modules and deployment templates from the start rather than bolting it on afterwards.
Support the Reliability Heroes rotation.
Security & ComplianceOwn endpoint management (replacing FleetDM) and DNS/web filtering.
Keep our ISMS up to date and run pentesting and phishing cycles.
ConnectivityAutomate domains, certificates and DNS across Embat and Necto, replacing manual tracking.
Own Render/GKE/SaaS spend as a CTO-level concern — you'll be expected to justify infrastructure investment, not just consume it.
Enablement over Ticket-TakingBuild self-service tooling for product squads so Platform stops functioning as a helpdesk.
Kill the "army of one" dependency: no single point of failure, no heroics — make the platform self-service so squads can unblock themselves.
Move Embat from startup-grade to industry standard (Git Ops, GKE, IaC everywhere), ahead of EMI readiness.
Measurably improve reliability and developer quality of life: fewer incidents, shorter onboarding, faster deploys.
Multiply the team's output before adding headcount.
Act as a technical reference and mentor across engineering, spreading ownership and accountability.
