Job Description
Singapore Airlines is seeking a dedicated and detail‑oriented Cargo Operations Officer to join our Cargo team in Madrid, Spain. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth execution of daily cargo operations, encompassing reservations, bookings, flight handling, invoicing, and administration. The successful candidate will support the overall efficiency and accuracy of cargo movements while maintaining high service standards for our customers and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Day‑to‑Day Flight Operations:
Support and monitor daily cargo operations, including export and import documentation, load planning, acceptance, buildup, and offload processes. Ensure shipments are handled in compliance with operational and safety standards.
Operational & Performance Monitoring:
Track cargo performance, monitor irregularities, and assist in analysing data to improve operational efficiency. Support reporting activities and provide administrative support to the Cargo team as required.
Customer Service & Coordination:
Liaise with freight forwarders, ground handling agents, and internal departments to ensure smooth communication and efficient issue resolution. Provide excellent customer service and support for shipment tracking and handling queries.
Cargo Reservations & Booking:
Handle cargo reservations and bookings accurately and efficiently through relevant systems. Coordinate with customers, agents, and the global Singapore Airlines Cargo network to ensure optimal space utilisation and timely confirmation of shipments.
Invoicing & Administration:
Prepare and process billing and invoicing for cargo shipments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company procedures. Maintain operational records, shipment documentation, and performance reports.
Requirements
Must have the right to work and live in Spain.
Diploma/Certified Training in Logistics, Business, Transportation, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum 3 years of experience in cargo operations, freight forwarding, or logistics administration, ideally within the airline or transportation industry.
Strong understanding of cargo handling procedures, airline operations, and documentation requirements (e.g., airway bills, manifests, and customs processes).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and familiarity with cargo systems such as Cargospot, Skychain, or Amadeus Cargo systems is an advantage.
Excellent organisational and multitasking skills, with strong attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with customers, ground handlers, and internal teams.
Fluency in English and Spanish.
A proactive, adaptable, and customer‑oriented approach, able to handle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
