Job Summary
Pay Pal currently seeks a talented Account Manager (Farmer role) to join the Iberia Pay Pal team based in Madrid. The role focuses on driving the growth of Pay Pal’s acceptance with enterprise-level merchants across Spain and Portugal, delivering value‑based solutions to senior decision makers and shaping consumer engagement strategy.
Essential Responsibilities- Identify and recommend best practices for business improvement.
- Lead functional projects and programs.
- Analyze business trends to inform decision‑making.
- Collaborate with internal teams to drive improvements.
- Monitor and report on account health and performance.
- 5+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Build positive and senior relationships with Pay Pal customers across multiple sectors (Retail/Fashion/Electronics, Travel, Groceries, Transportation/eGovernment, Services, Home & Office Supplies).
- Manage client relationships and coordinate with Pay Pal teams (Finance, Pricing, Compliance, Legal, Marketing, Product, Integration).
- Collaborate with Product, Marketing and Risk teams to enhance Pay Pal’s value proposition and design tailored solutions.
- Show wide professional knowledge of the payments industry and the targeted sectors through a consultative selling approach.
- Develop a strong sales strategy to grow Pay Pal’s acceptance at defined targets across Iberia.
- Drive Pay Pal’s business in new commerce formats (app‑based commerce, click & collect, self‑service kiosk, etc.).
- Partner with merchants to deliver best‑in‑class online and mobile payments/check‑out experience to drive incremental sales.
- 10+ years of sales experience, ideally in e‑commerce, payments or financial services.
- Existing experience in sales, business development or consulting within a fast‑paced, target‑oriented environment.
- Sound knowledge of e‑commerce, retail, or payment industry.
- Strong presentation and communication skills; comfortable presenting and negotiating with senior executives (CxO).
- Strong cross‑functional project management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, cross‑cultural communication skills.
- Results‑oriented, analytical, self‑motivated with a “hands‑on” mindset.
- Experience negotiating complex contracts and achieving favorable deal terms.
- Fluent in English and Spanish;
Portuguese is a plus. - Bachelor’s degree.
