About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Expert Account Executive to join our Consumer Products, Retail & Discrete Manufacturing team within the Large Enterprise business. This is one of the most strategic sales roles within the organization, responsible for managing and expanding a portfolio of our largest Retail customers, including one of Spain’s leading retailers. The successful candidate will combine deep Retail industry expertise with outstanding executive engagement capabilities and a proven ability to originate, shape, and close transformational business opportunities.

Beyond managing customer relationships, this individual will act as a trusted strategic advisor to C‑level executives, helping customers accelerate their business transformation while delivering sustainable growth for SAP. This role requires an accomplished enterprise sales leader with exceptional commercial acumen, executive presence, and the ability to orchestrate complex, multi‑year transformation programs across large organizations. Success will be measured not only by revenue achievement but by the ability to establish long‑term strategic partnerships, expand executive relationships, and create lasting customer value.

This is a full‑time, onsite position requiring regular travel within the assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the executive relationship with a portfolio of strategic Retail customers, positioning SAP as a long‑term transformation partner.
  • Develop and execute multi‑year account strategies aligned with customers’ business priorities, digital transformation roadmaps, and growth ambitions.
  • Build trusted relationships with C‑suite executives and senior business leaders, acting as a strategic advisor capable of influencing business and technology decisions at the highest levels.
  • Identify, originate, and shape large‑scale business transformation opportunities by connecting industry challenges with innovative SAP solutions.
  • Lead highly complex enterprise sales engagements involving multiple stakeholders, business units, executive sponsors, and partners.
  • Drive the complete sales lifecycle, from strategic opportunity creation through negotiation, executive alignment, and successful deal closure.
  • Orchestrate cross‑functional teams including Customer Success, Value Advisory, Services, Solution Advisory, Product Management, Partners, and Executive Leadership to deliver differentiated customer outcomes.
  • Develop compelling business cases that clearly articulate strategic value, measurable business outcomes, and long‑term return on investment.
  • Negotiate complex commercial agreements while balancing customer success, long‑term partnership, and sustainable business growth.
  • Deliver predictable pipeline development, disciplined opportunity management, and accurate executive forecasting.
  • Serve as a market leader within the Retail industry by maintaining deep knowledge of market dynamics, competitive landscape, consumer trends, AI, data, supply chain innovation, and emerging technologies.
Qualifications Required
  • 10+ years of proven success in enterprise software sales, strategic account management, or complex B2B solution selling within Large Enterprise organizations.
  • Extensive experience managing Tier 1 Retail customers or leading strategic business relationships with large retail organizations.
  • Outstanding track record of consistently exceeding quota and closing high‑value, multi‑million‑euro enterprise software and cloud transformation deals.
