Senior Front-End Software Developer – EY GDS Spain - Hybrid

As a member of our team in the EY GDS Spain office in Malaga, you’ll have a chance to extend your knowledge & experience by working on interesting projects with the newest technologies and approaches. You’ll support clients in choosing the most suitable business solution and take part in digital transformation.

You will support clients in selecting and evolving the most appropriate business solutions and contribute to digital transformation programs in the Financial Services sector.

You will join an EY engineering team that builds and delivers solutions end-to-end, while working directly with client stakeholders (such as business analysts, product owners, and other key contributors) to clarify requirements, align on priorities, and ensure predictable delivery.

Development work itself is carried out within the EY team, in close collaboration with client teams throughout the lifecycle.

• Deliver modern web applications and reusable UI components as part of an EY engineering team embedded in client delivery environments.
• Collaborate closely with client-side stakeholders (e.g., business analysts, product owners and other contributors) to clarify requirements, align on priorities, and ensure predictable delivery outcomes.
• Translate requirements and wireframes into responsive, maintainable Type Script front-end code, including UI layout and styling work aligned to client branding when required.
• Build and evolve SPA front ends using Angular (preferred) or an equivalent modern framework where appropriate, with a strong focus on maintainability and scalability.
• Integrate front-end applications with REST APIs (services implemented in Java/Spring), ensuring robust and reliable client‑server interaction.
• Apply secure engineering guidelines aligned to OWASP principles and work with authentication approaches such as SSO when applicable.
• Contribute hands‑on testing practices and support quality gates that enable stable, predictable releases.
• Participate in code reviews and continuously improve standards, reusability and consistency across the front end.
• Stay current with front‑end trends and contribute to continuous learning and improvement within a dynamic team.

• Type Script-based front-end development for modern web applications.
• Component-based design, reusable UI patterns and maintainable front-end architecture.
• Responsive UI implementation (HTML/CSS) with strong attention to detail in layout and styling.
• Routing and navigation patterns; forms and validation approaches.
• Consuming and integrating REST APIs and handling asynchronous data flows.
• Hands‑on testing practices and a quality mindset, contributing to reliable delivery through automation and quality gates.
• Git-based workflows and agile delivery practices.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related IT field (required).
• Angular experience is preferred; strong expertise in a modern framework such as React may be considered as an alternative, especially with relevant Angular exposure and the ability to ramp up quickly.
• Strong engineering practices, organization and attention to detail.
• Experience working in agile delivery environments and collaborating effectively within distributed teams.
• Strong English communication skills suitable for a client‑facing environment.
• The role is based in EY GDS Spain (Málaga) with a hybrid working model.
