Job Overview  The Guest Services Officer must be friendly, passionate, and committed. The role requires actively listening and extending assistance to resolve guest issues and concerns. A strong guest satisfaction disposition, sense of humor, and outstanding hospitality are essential. The Officer should possess focused customer service skills, strong communication, organizational aptitude, and effective decision‑making abilities.
Responsibilities   Interact with guests in a considerate, professional, and positive manner, showing concern and listening actively.
Communicate tactfully with guests, department heads, and shipboard employees to resolve problems and negotiate resolutions.
Operate basic office equipment, including telephones, computers, and copy machines.
Qualifications   Minimum one‑year experience in a customer‑contact position within the hotel field or related industry.
Minimum one‑year cash‑handling experience and an understanding of US currency and exchange rates.
Proven customer service skills to interact with guests in a considerate, professional, and positive manner.
Ability to communicate tactfully with guests, department heads, and shipboard employees to resolve problems and negotiate resolutions.
Ability to operate basic office equipment, including telephones, computers, and copy machines.
Completion of high school or basic education equivalency preferred.
Must be willing to work onboard for 5–6 months.
Required to speak English clearly and distinctly; able to read and write English to understand and interpret written procedures.
Ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms, and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, supervisors, and co‑workers.
Proficiency in additional languages such as Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Swedish, Norwegian, or Danish is essential.
