About the Role
At BASF | Chemetall, we are looking for a Materials Planner Specialist to join our Supply Chain team in Mexico. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient planning, coordination, and availability of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods to support our operations. This position plays a critical role in maintaining supply continuity, optimizing inventory levels, and strengthening collaboration across procurement, logistics, and production teams.
Responsibilities
Analyze, maintain, and fully utilize the MRP system to create purchase orders and follow up accordingly
Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of internal management and staff
Data processing, maintenance, and analysis
Develop, implement, and enforce plant SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) objectives and goals
Communicate sensitive information and feedback to suppliers, customer service, and the supply chain
Monitor and maintain material master data, open purchase orders, and production orders to ensure SAP dates are accurate and up to date
Communicate with the direct procurement team to ensure raw material and supply availability with approved suppliers; act with procurement in case of shortages
Conduct supplier performance evaluations within the defined time frames
Maintain detailed records, generate reports, and develop presentations
Oversee inventory levels across warehouse locations in Mexico
Follow up with the logistics team to ensure timely delivery of materials
Maintain a proper flow of purchased inventory
Strong attention to detail
Support other areas within the supply chain as required by business needs
Qualifications
+2 years of experience in supply chain
Bachelor’s degree in international business, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
Advanced English proficiency
Experience in production planning, procurement, and SAP
Strong Excel skills, including formula creation
Ability to work in a dynamic environment
Collaborative mindset and strong teamwork orientation
Strong organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills
Excellent comunicación skills
