About the Role
At BASF Chemetall, we are looking for a Production Planner to join our Supply Chain team in Mexico. In this role, you will be responsible for developing the production plan based on customer demand and product requirements, ensuring system accuracy, and maintaining optimal inventory levels.
This position plays a key role in coordinating production activities, ensuring material availability, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.
Responsibilities
Own the production planning process and implement necessary adjustments
Develop daily production plans based on customer demand and product volumes
Create process orders for bulk and packaged products to trigger raw material requirements
Maintain updated material and production information systems
Coordinate closely with the supply chain team to ensure timely availability of raw materials
Monitor production plan execution and communicate any changes to avoid impacts on other areas
Assign raw material batches to process orders and release them for production execution
Control and manage the correct consumption of raw materials within the plant warehouse
Post finished goods in the system once production is completed
Measure and monitor planning KPIs for management and quality reviews
Ensure compliance with company policies related to SHE, 5S, and Quality Systems
Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
Ingredients for Success
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in international business, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
Intermediate English proficiency
+2 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or purchasing roles
Knowledge and experience in demand and production planning processes
Internal
Experience working with ERP systems (preferably SAP – MM module)
Advanced Excel skills
Knowledge of quality and process standards such as VDA & AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA)
Familiarity with process audits (VDA 6.3) and standards such as IATF 16949 and ISO 9001
Problem-solving methodology knowledge (e.g., 8D)
Strong decision-making, customer focus, and results orientation
