We are looking for a Cost Analyst to join our Plant Finance team in Monterrey. This role supports manufacturing operations through cost accounting, inventory control, and financial analysis, contributing to accurate financial reporting, effective month-end close activities, and reliable data for operational and financial decision-making.
Role Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update standard costs for manufactured products, including monthly and annual inventory revaluations.
- Calculate and validate standard costs for new part numbers.
- Analyze cost variances, inventory movements, and historical cost data to support internal stakeholders.
- Prepare daily manufacturing finance reports (inventory levels, absorption, manufacturing expenses, earned hours).
- Perform inventory reconciliations by part number and location.
- Support scrap recovery processes by reconciling supplier billings against scrap manifests.
- Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries in Oracle.
- Prepare financial and cost-related reports for management review.
- Participate in internal and external audits, including WIP and quarantine inventory reviews.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- 2 years of experience in accounting, cost accounting, or manufacturing finance.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles and inventory accounting.
- Intermediate English proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a manufacturing or plant environment.
- Knowledge of standard costing, inventory valuation and reconciliation, and cost variance analysis.
- Experience using ERP systems (Oracle or similar).
- Experience using financial reporting or consolidation tools integrated with Excel (e.g., Smart View, Hyperion, or similar).
- Experience supporting audits or compliance activities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
- Proactive mindset with attention to detail and strong sense of responsibility.
- Good communication skills with cross-functional teams.
