Electronics Product Test Engineer

Location: Ciudad Acuña

Position Summary:

The engineer in this role will oversee and perform validation activities for electronic systems and components, including project planning, requirements definition, test development, and hands-on evaluation. The position requires a technically versatile individual with experience in system testing, instrumentation, and cross-functional collaboration. Strong communication skills and the ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams and external partners are essential.

Key Responsibilities
Communicate effectively with cross-functional team members and leadership when presenting technical findings.
Coordinate mechanical, electrical, and environmental test activities with internal engineering teams for both existing and new electronic products, including reviewing and developing validation plans, preparing test requests, executing tests, and supporting analysis of results.
Perform analysis of returned electronic components and systems to identify performance issues or failure mechanisms.
Conduct root cause investigations on hardware components, test samples, and returned units.
Prepare technical reports to document investigations, analyses, and special studies.
Coordinate test activities with external laboratories, including preparing specifications, supporting quotations, and providing on-site oversight of test execution when required.
Support development of engineering documentation such as design specifications, risk assessments, and validation records.
Participate in technical design reviews and contribute to product development discussions.
Develop test fixtures, setups, and related hardware to support validation activities.
Build expertise in applicable laboratory test protocols, standards, and procedures.
Interpret and create circuit schematics in support of hardware development activities.
Troubleshoot electronic assemblies using standard laboratory tools (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.).
Use data acquisition equipment to measure electrical and physical parameters such as temperature, pressure, force, and humidity.
Maintain a safe, organized, and ergonomically sound laboratory environment.
Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment, including environmental chambers, vibration systems, and instrumentation.
Technical Background
2+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's or master's degree.
Knowledge of electronic systems development and testing preferred.
Familiarity with quality management systems and engineering documentation processes.
Experience contributing to projects from concept through production release.
Hands-on experience performing laboratory testing and electronic evaluation with minimal supervision.
Working knowledge of environmental or reliability testing standards.

Experience with diagnostic or data analysis software is a plus.
Background in RF/hardware development or hand-soldering of electronic components is a plus.
Experience creating custom test fixtures or performing light machining is a plus.

Experience with statistical methods (e.g., Design of Experiment - DOE) is a plus.

Education
Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electromechanical, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field.
