Product Engineer - Medical

Location: Ciudad Acuña

Position Summary:

This position will collaborate with engineers, designers, technicians, manufacturing teams, suppliers, and external partners to support ongoing design and development activities for existing products.

Key Responsibilities
Generate 3D models of components using CAD software, produce 2D assembly drawings, and prepare complete drawing packages for release.
Prepare CAD models for structural and flow analysis, collaborate with specialists to complete evaluations, and correlate analysis results with prototype testing. Prepare detailed analysis reports.
Identify and implement cost-saving and efficiency improvement initiatives.
Contribute to concept development and design proposals.
Design and detail components produced using a variety of manufacturing processes, including castings, stamped or machined metals, and molded plastics.
Integrate design-for-manufacturing principles into components and assemblies.
Develop Bill of Materials (BOM) for assemblies.
Apply GD&T techniques and perform tolerance stack-up analysis.
Perform engineering calculations and technical evaluations.
Apply recognized industry standards and best practices (ANSI, ASME, ISO).
Coordinate major project design efforts and collaborate with vendors, customers, and internal teams.
Gain thorough knowledge of the assigned product area.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve design targets.
Assist with problem-solving and engineering analysis.
Participate in reviewing engineering risk and validation documents.
Mentor and review work of other design engineers.
Provide input to improve engineering processes and workflows.

Technical Background
~2+ years of relevant engineering or design experience.
~ Understanding of engineering design processes, manufacturing techniques, and product development lifecycle.
~ Familiarity with quality management processes a plus.
~ Experience in technology, manufacturing, or product development industries preferred.
~ Advanced proficiency in CAD modeling, including surface modeling, sheet metal, and assemblies.
~ Experience or ability to quickly learn PLM systems.
~ Proficiency in GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, design-for-manufacturing principles, engineering calculations, and BOM development.
~ Willingness to pursue GD&T certification.
~ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
~ Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
~ Experience designing components from a variety of materials (metal, plastic, machined, cast, or molded).
~ Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
~ Ability to quickly learn project management and collaboration tools.
~ Self-starter, motivated, and able to learn quickly.
~ Lean, Green Belt, or additive manufacturing experience a plus.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required;
Master’s degree preferred.
GD&T certification or equivalent preferred.
