Location: San Luis Potosí
Position Objective
Lead the complete mechanical design of robotic cells for manufacturing lines, ensuring robust, safe, and optimized solutions in terms of manufacturability, ergonomics, operation, and cost. Serve as the technical reference for design, analysis, and standards, guaranteeing high-quality deliverables and customer satisfaction.
Main Responsibilities
Design and develop fully integrated robotic cells using Solid Works and CATIA (layouts, tooling, fixtures, structures, conveyors, automated and manual stations).
Create and review 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings with correct application of GD&T.
Perform validations through structural and modal analysis (FEM/FEA).
Select materials, mechanical components, pneumatic equipment, and commercial elements required for the project.
Define and review interfaces according to NAAMS standards.
Evaluate manufacturability, ergonomics, access, and maintainability of designs.
Generate BOMs, technical specifications, and complete project documentation.
Robotics / Automation
Conduct robotic studies: reach analysis, quadrants, singularities, loads (Robot Load), cycle time, interference analysis.
Collaborate closely with robot integrators and programmers.
Preferred: experience with Robot Studio for trajectory validation, reach and cycle-time studies.
Project Management & Technical Leadership
Assume responsibility for the complete mechanical design of the project.
Delegate tasks and review work from Junior and Intermediate designers.
Develop, audit, and technically support fabrication suppliers.
Review manufacturing processes, assembly, and quality of tooling and structures.
Provide technical support during FAT, SAT, and on-site installation.
Maintain direct communication with customers, supporting reviews, technical meetings, and design changes.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Maintain an attitude of continuous self-development.
Actively seek to improve design quality, reduce risks, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electromechanical Engineering, or related fields.
Experience
5+ years designing robotic cells, tooling, fixtures, or special-purpose machinery for the automotive or metal-mechanical industry.
Experience working with integrators or machinery manufacturers.
Technical Skills
Advanced proficiency in Solid Works.
Advanced proficiency in CATIA V5 or V6.
Strong experience in FEM/FEA.
Knowledge of NAAMS standards.
Strong foundation in:
Vector analysis
Kinematics
Statics / Dynamics
Center of gravity, inertia, and dynamic loads
Expert use of GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
Fluent English (spoken and written).
Preferred:
