Job Summary:

The Payroll, Compensation & Benefits Manager ensures the efficient and compliant execution of payroll processes while leading the design and continuous improvement of total rewards strategies. This role manages all payroll-related operations and is responsible for designing and managing compensation structures, benefits programs, and workforce analytics strategies to ensure a competitive and data-driven approach to HR decision-making. Acting as both an operational leader and strategic advisor, the manager partners with HR and Finance function to deliver value through data accuracy, compliance, and competitive offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Operations & Compliance

• Oversee the end-to-end payroll cycle, ensuring timely and accurate salary payments, tax deductions, and statutory contributions (e.g., IMSS, INFONAVIT, ISR).

• Ensure compliance with local labor and tax legislation, internal policies, and audit standards.

• Administer and maintain the payroll system (e.g., TRESS), ensuring accuracy, legal compliance, and proper configuration for updates and policy changes.

• Manage payroll incident reporting (e.g., absences, overtime, bonuses, vacations), ensuring data integrity and approval traceability.

• Prepare and analyze payroll cost reports and accounting reconciliations, providing insights to HR and Finance.

• Respond to internal and external audits, maintaining complete and accurate payroll documentation.
Team Leadership and Collaboration

• Lead, coach, and develop the payroll team by setting clear objectives, monitoring KPIs, and fostering continuous improvement.

• Collaborate closely with HR partners on employee movements including onboarding, salary adjustments, promotions, and terminations.

Compensation & Benefit Strategy

• Design and maintain job-based salary structures and compensation frameworks aligned with business needs and market competitiveness. Conduct market benchmarking and compensation analysis to ensure industry competitiveness.

• In coordination with the Talent Management Manager, lead annual compensation cycles including salary reviews, merit increases, and  performance-based pay adjustments .

• Conduct internal equity analysis and benchmarking against external market data to ensure fair and competitive compensation practices.

• Support the implementation and management of incentive plans, bonuses, and long-term variable pay schemes.

• Manage employee benefit programs (e.g., medical insurance, food vouchers, retirement plans), ensuring compliance, value, and employee satisfaction.

Data & Systems Management

• Ensure payroll and compensation data accuracy across HR systems to support reliable reporting and analytics.

• Support digital transformation initiatives related to payroll and total rewards.

• Generate dashboards and KPIs to evaluate payroll performance and compensation effectiveness.

KPIs:

• Timely and error-free payroll execution.

• Legal compliance with tax and labor obligations.

• Employee satisfaction with payroll and benefits.

• Market alignment and internal equity of compensation.

• Cost-efficiency and utilization of benefit programs.

• Conduct job analysis to clearly define group jobs, Salary ranges, pay grades, bands and position weight and value.

• Support the HR Director to define the compensation strategy that supports Retention, fairness and equity, competitiveness and engagement
