Position Summary
The People Manager Mexico leads the country People agenda, ensuring the effective translation of business and regional People strategies into strong local execution. This role acts as a strategic advisor to the Mexico leadership team and as a connector between the business, Regional People organization, Centers of Excellence, HR Operations, Finance, and Legal. The position is accountable for driving organizational effectiveness, leadership capability, engagement, and compliance in a complex environment.
A core focus is the governance of headcount, people costs, and workforce planning, ensuring disciplined execution, risk mitigation, and sustainable business performance through data driven people decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic People Partnership
Translate business priorities into a clear country People strategy and execution plan
Act as the primary People partner for senior leaders in Mexico
Anticipate people related risks and opportunities and drive proactive actions
Ensure disciplined execution of core People cycles (performance, talent, compensation, engagement)
Talent & Leadership Management
Lead performance management, talent reviews, and succession planning
Ensure strong coverage and development plans for critical roles
Coach leaders to build high-performing, inclusive, and accountable teams
Workforce, Headcount & Cost Governance
Own and manage headcount planning and workforce controls
Ensure governance and effective execution of compensation, bonus, and benefits cycles
Drive alignment between organization design, capability needs, and financial targets
Employee Relations & Compliance
Ensure full compliance with Mexican labor law and local regulations
Lead complex employee relations cases and mitigate labor risk
Partner with Legal on investigations, negotiations, and litigation management
Ensure consistent and fair application of policies and practices
Organization Design & Change
Lead or support organization design initiatives to improve efficiency and clarity
Drive change management for restructurings, operating model changes, and new ways of working
Champion company culture and values during periods of transformation
Engagement, Culture & DEI
Lead employee engagement strategy and action planning
Drive Diversity, Equity & Inclusion priorities and wellbeing initiatives
Strengthening culture, leadership behaviors, and employee experience
Support community and social impact initiatives aligned with employer brand
People Operations & Data
Partner with HR Operations and Payroll to ensure operational excellence and accuracy
Ensure high quality people data and reporting
Leverage people analytics to inform leadership decisions and priorities
Team Leadership
Set clear objectives, priorities, and performance expectations
Build capabilities in employee relations, analytics, organization design, and change leadership
KPIs
Headcount and people cost vs. plan
Succession coverage and retention of critical talent
Engagement and voluntary turnover
Compliance, ER case resolution, and labor risk exposure
Payroll accuracy and People process effectiveness
Professional Experience
6-8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
Proven experience as a country HRBP / People Manager in a matrix organization
Strong expertise in Mexican labor law and employee relations
Experience leading change, organization design, and leadership development
Strong analytical capability using people and workforce data
Ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead through complexity
Education & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business, Psychology, or related field
Fluent in Spanish and English
Willingness to travel as required
