About the job:
Are you the bridge between complex technical architecture and strategic business goals? At Walmart, we are looking for a Technical Program Manager (TPM) who can navigate the "how" of large-scale software delivery.
As a TPM, you won't just track tasks; you will drive the technical execution of projects that power the world's largest retailer. You will be the "glue" across engineering teams, ensuring that our high-performance backend systems are delivered seamlessly, focusing on scalability, reliability, and modern Dev Ops practices.
What will you do?
Lead Technical Delivery:
Drive the planning and execution of complex, cross-functional programs focused on backend services and global digital infrastructure.
Manage Technical Dependencies:
Map out and resolve bottlenecks across multiple engineering squads to ensure seamless integration in a microservices environment.
Champion Dev Ops Culture:
Partner with engineering to improve CI/CD pipelines, automation, and system observability.
Translate Complexity:
Act as the primary interface between business stakeholders and engineers, turning high-level requirements into actionable technical roadmaps.
Mitigate Risk:
Proactively identify architectural gaps or delivery risks and drive technical solutions before they impact the global release cycle.
Global Orchestration:
Coordinate with offshore and cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality delivery in a fast-paced, Agile environment.
What are we looking for?
Technical Understanding:
Backend Architecture:
Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and how backend components communicate /CD & Dev Ops:
Deep familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and a strong mindset for automation and operational excellence.
SDLC Mastery:
Expertise in the full Software Development Life Cycle, including managing deployments in high-traffic production environments.
Cloud Literacy:
Understanding of cloud-native infrastructure (Azure, GCP, or AWS) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Modern Tooling:
Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and technical road mapping tools.

Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field + 5 years of experience in technical program/project management.
Proven track record of delivering complex backend software products from conception to launch.
Strong experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies, leading rituals, and managing technical backlogs.
High proficiency in English (written and verbal) is essential for collaborating with our global tech hubs.
