The Technical Sales Representative will be the primary point of contact for welding and machinery dealers, driving sales growth by providing expert product knowledge, technical support, and exceptional customer service. This role requires a strong understanding of welding techniques, industrial machinery, and the ability to articulate the value of complex technical products.
Key Responsibilities
Sales and Business Development:
Achieve and exceed sales targets for welding equipment, machinery, and related supplies within an assigned territory.
Identify and prospect new dealer accounts and key end-users.
Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and quotations.
Technical Expertise and Support:
Provide in-depth technical product demonstrations and training to dealer sales teams and their customers.
Consult customers to analyze their needs and recommend the most suitable equipment and solutions.
Act as a technical resource to troubleshoot and resolve equipment-related issues post-sale.
Customer Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with dealer principals, sales managers, and service departments.
Regularly visit client sites to strengthen partnerships and understand their operational challenges.
Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., engineering, service, logistics) to ensure customer satisfaction.
Ability to cold call at the end user and build relationship
Market Intelligence:
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies in the welding and machinery sectors.
Provide feedback to the product development team to help tailor offerings to client needs.
Required Qualifications
Education:
A bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, or a related technical field is often preferred. 5-years of directly related experience may substitute for the required education
Experience:
Proven experience (e.g., 6-8 years) in technical sales, particularly in industrial equipment, welding, or manufacturing is highly valued.
Technical
Skills:
Strong working knowledge of various welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick, etc.), consumables, and related machinery (e.g., plasma cutters, robotics).
Aptitude for understanding and explaining complex technical specifications and applications.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to be resourceful, energetic, and resourceful in a fast-paced environment.
Other Requirements:
A valid driver's and passport required
Able to travel to US for multiple trainings at various locations
Bilingual, English and Spanish required
Minimum 50-75% travel required with position
