Role Description  The Senior Accountant role at Nordre Ocean is a full-time, on-site position based in Murcia. The individual in this role oversees general ledger accounting, prepares and reviews journal entries, reconciles accounts, and ensures accurate month-end and year-end closing. Responsibilities include preparing financial statements and management reports, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities, and monitoring cost structures related to fishing, processing, and trading operations.

The Senior Accountant ensures compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls, and participates in audits by providing documentation and analysis. This role collaborates with operations, procurement, and trading teams to analyze financial performance and recommend process improvements.
Qualifications
Strong skills in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and account reconciliation.

Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis in a trading, manufacturing, or logistics-focused environment.
Knowledge of applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS), tax regulations, and internal control frameworks.
Proficiency with accounting and ERP software, as well as solid Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines.
Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and external auditors.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
