About

Based at Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca, within the Marketing & Commerce department, the Group Sales Manager is responsible for generating group business from key international and domestic markets. This includes developing strategic relationships with meeting planners, event agencies, and corporate clients, while managing the complete sales cycle—from prospecting and proposals to contracting and pre‑event coordination.

This role involves creating tailored group offers, managing leads and RFPs, organising site inspections, and ensuring seamless coordination with operational departments to deliver extraordinary group experiences in line with Mandarin Oriental standards.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively identify, qualify, and convert group business opportunities for meetings, incentives, conferences and events (MICE).
  • Respond to all group RFPs within 24 hours, ensuring accuracy, creativity and alignment with the brand’s positioning and standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key group clients, agencies, DMCs, corporate planners and event professionals.
  • Create bespoke proposals that reflect the property’s unique offerings, supporting the conversion of high‑end group business.
  • Organise and host site inspections and familiarisation trips that highlight the resort’s group capabilities.
  • Negotiate group rates, terms and contracts in line with revenue goals and strategic guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Revenue, Reservations, Events and Operational teams to ensure flawless pre‑arrival planning and service delivery.
  • Participate in relevant trade shows, sales missions and networking events to grow the hotel’s group client base.
  • Maintain accurate records in CRM systems, including Salesforce, Power BI, Delphi Sales & Catering and relevant sales tools.
  • Conduct regular market research and competitor analysis to remain agile in a competitive MICE landscape.
  • Track and report on group sales performance, conversion rates and KPIs, providing insights and improvement recommendations.
  • Coordinate post‑event feedback and ensure guest satisfaction is consistently exceeded.
Expectations

As Group Sales Manager, we expect from you:

Experience and Education
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in group or MICE sales within the luxury hospitality sector or a similar high‑end environment.
  • Proven track record in converting group leads and managing all aspects of group sales from prospecting to execution.
  • Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, Sales or Marketing preferred.
  • Existing relationships with key MICE partners and corporate accounts is a plus.
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in managing RFPs, booking systems, scheduling software and POS systems.
  • Experience with CRM tools such as Salesforce to manage client relationships and track group sales activity.
  • Strong knowledge of group contracts, terms, negotiations and hotel sales procedures.
