** We’re

** through innovation, cutting-edge technology, collaboration and the freedom to explore new ideas. To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for:
* Provide expert legal advice and support on the design, structuring and delivery of global, scalable digital asset products and services for retail customers.
* Drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial and technology agreements, including supplier, partnership and customer-facing agreements.
* Develop core legal templates and associated guidance for the provision of retail digital asset products across multiple geographies.
* Advise on regulatory changes which present both an opportunity and challenge for Santander Group’s retail customer digital asset business, including MiCA in the EU, GENIUS in the US and other equivalent relevant laws and regulations in the UK, APAC and LATAM.
* Supporting major projects and transactions working closely with senior management, other Santander Group legal teams and, where appropriate, external counsel
* Collaborate with, and provide subject-matter expertise to, local legal and compliance teams on digital asset retail products and services.
* Keeping abreast of, and contribute to, industry consultations and internal training covering regulatory and market developments in the digital asset arena.

The following requirements represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities essential for success in this role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
** Professional Experience
*** A minimum of seven years’ post qualification experience working as a lawyer in a law firm (covering corporate, regulatory and/or finance) or in-house, ideally in a fintech (payments) environment. (Required).
* Digital asset and blockchain experience is essential. (Required)
** Education
* ** Bachelors or Master’s degree in law. (Required)
* MBA and/or additional degrees (Business Administration, Corporate Governance, International law etc.) (Preferred)
** Languages
* ** Excellent oral and written communications skills in English and Spanish. (Required).
** Hard Skills
*** Knowledge of financial services and crypto regulatory framework. (Required).
* Sound knowledge of the regulatory regime impacting financial services and crypto generally. (Required).
** Soft Skills
*** Lead in building strong working relationships, sharing knowledge, skills and experience, focusing on a shared vision in order to enable successful cross team working in pursuit of common goals.
* Assumes and promotes personal ownership and responsibility.
