Site Quality Officer

Responsibilities

• Control Vessel and Container Audits, monitoring fruit quality during unloading in Zeebrugge and preparing audit reports.
• Control 3PL performance monitoring, evaluating compliance with quality processes through regular audits and reports.
• Prepare and monitor Supplier Accountability Audits, ensuring readiness and monitoring audits.
• Provide insights on insurance claim inspections, communicate findings, and follow up with operations quality teams.
• Collaborate with 3PL partners by providing necessary documentation and information to meet quality standards.
• Deliver training sessions and maintain quality documentation for internal teams and 3PL partners.
• Support sampling and trials for the compliance department, ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
• Monitor and report quality performance within the team, highlighting non-compliance and improvement areas.
• Collaborate with Operations & Logistics Manager/Lead, act as backup during absences, control and set PPS settings, train and liaise with colleague in Zeebrugge, and target SA in SAP before uploading vessel manifest.

• Proficient in both Spanish and English to communicate between offices.
• Experience with quality standards and auditing in the fruit industry or international production environments.
• Solid understanding of product quality within the supply chain and its impact on operations.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills to engage with internal teams and external partners.
• 10+ years experience within warehouse and quality management systems.
• Strong training skills for both Zespri supply chain colleagues and 3PL staff.
• Excellent initiative, eagerness to learn, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Demonstrates expertise in quality management and auditing within the fruit industry, with a strong focus on compliance, food safety standards, and effective collaboration with 3PL partners. Proficient in both Spanish and English, capable of delivering training and insights to enhance operational performance.
