Job DescriptionAs a Firmware Engineer, you develop and validate embedded software for real-time automotive electronic control units (ECUs). You play a key role in delivering reliable, safety-compliant firmware by working closely with systems, hardware, AUTOSAR, and validation teams across the product lifecycle.
ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, review, and maintain production-quality embedded software in C for automotive ECUs.
Derive and document software requirements from system requirements and translate them into robust firmware solutions.
Implement real-time control functions, state machines, monitoring features, fault handling, and diagnostic logic.
Develop and validate automotive diagnostics, including UDS services, DTC management, diagnostic routines, and data handling.
Integrate application software with AUTOSAR Runtime Environment (RTE), platform services, or equivalent embedded software frameworks.
Analyze and optimize system performance, including task execution, CPU load, memory usage, interrupt behavior, and timing constraints.
Develop safety-related software, implement safety mechanisms, and support compliance with ISO 26262 requirements.
Execute testing, debugging, code reviews, static analysis, and root-cause investigations while supporting ECU integration, validation, and software releases.
3+ years of experience in embedded software or firmware development using
C.
Strong knowledge of microcontrollers, interrupts, memory management, embedded debugging, and real-time software concepts.
Experience with automotive communication protocols, particularly CAN and CAN FD, and automotive diagnostics.
Familiarity with ISO 26262, MISRA C, safety-related software development, and requirements traceability.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
