We are QST Solutions, formerly Wabash Technologies de México, a manufacturing company based in Mexicali specializing in automotive electronic components and sensing technologies. Our operations focus on the manufacturing of speed, position, and magnetic sensor solutions used in the automotive industry worldwide.

What are we looking for?

The New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer at QST Solutions is responsible for leading the successful transition of new products from the design and development phase into full-scale manufacturing. This role ensures that all manufacturing processes, production equipment, tooling, and documentation are properly validated, optimized, and implemented to support efficient, high-quality production.

Activities of the position

- Develop, monitor, and coordinate detailed project plans aligned with the timelines established by the Program Manager for the development of manufacturing equipment, processes, and tooling. Responsibilities include defining requirements, participating in the supplier quotation and selection process, reviewing equipment and tooling designs, and leading both external and internal build and validation activities.
- Develop project plans and coordinate their execution for engineering builds, including prototype, Process Validation (PV) builds, Run-at-Rate trials, and other pre-production activities.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing process documentation and Core Tools, including process flow diagrams, PFMEA, control plans, work instructions, and other required documentation.
- Ensure that all new equipment and/or manufacturing processes comply with plant standards and are fully integrated into the site's production, quality, maintenance, and information systems.
- Participate in and provide timely support for project meetings with Program Managers, cross-functional teams, and customers to communicate progress, address technical issues, and ensure project objectives are achieved.
- Prepare and present weekly project status reports for assigned projects, highlighting progress, risks, milestones, and required corrective actions.
- Lead engineering and product introduction projects assigned by Management when a Program Manager has not been designated, assuming full responsibility for planning, execution, coordination, and successful project completion.

Qualifications

- - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in New Product Introduction (NPI), Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing new product launches from prototype through production.
- Knowledge of manufacturing process development, equipment validation, tooling design, and process optimization.
- Working knowledge of APQP and Core Tools, including PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, MSA, and SPC.

- Experience with engineering documentation, work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and engineering change management (ECO/ECN).
- Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including Quality, Production, Supply Chain, and Program Management.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Project (or equivalent project management software).

Preferred

- Experience in the electronics manufacturing services (EMS), automotive, medical device, or aerospace industries.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent certification.

- Experience with automation, robotics, vision systems, or advanced manufacturing technologies.

- Experience with IQ/OQ/PQ validation protocols.
- Familiarity with ERP and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 13485, or AS9100 quality management systems.
- Experience working directly with customers during new product introductions and engineering builds.
- CAD experience using Solid Works, AutoCAD, or similar software.
- PMP certification or formal project management training.
