English-Speaking Boarding School in Switzerland

Aiglon College:
Aiglon College is an accredited, English-speaking international boarding school for boys and girls ages 9 to 18 years. Aiglon offers the British National Curriculum in preparation for IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) exams in middle school. We also offer the IB (International Baccalaureate) Diploma program to sixth form students.

Junior School Programme:
The curriculum for the four junior school years is balanced between a focus on core subjects - English, Maths and Science - to ensure a firm base for later study, and exposure to a wide range of other subjects to allow pupils to develop their own interests and aptitudes.

Most importantly of all, the teaching and the curriculum aim to ensure that pupils develop a love of learning for its own sake that will carry them through the rest of their school days and beyond.

Middle School Programme:
At the end of the third form, pupils have a number of choices to make as they start on the two year IGCSE programme which runs through the fourth and fifth years. For IGCSE, pupils study a number of core subjects, including Maths and English, but they also have the opportunity to take some elective courses.  

There are a wide range of subjects on offer, to allow students to find subjects in which they have a real interest and enthusiasm.  Most IGCSE courses include a mixture of end of course examinations and internally assessed coursework, and some, such as GCSE Drama, include significant assessed practical activity. 

Sixth Form - IB Diploma Programme:
For the final two years of school, Sixth Form students study the IB Diploma Programme. Students select six subjects to study: three at the higher level and three at the standard level. The specialism prepares students for the rigours of university education after Aiglon. 

Subjects include: English Language, English Literature, French, Mathematics, Economics and Business Studies, Geography, German, History, Art, Biology, Chemistry, Drama and Theatre, ICT/Computing, Media Studies, Music, Philosophy, Physical Education, Physics, Space Science, Spanish.

Additional Programmes:
- ESL (English as a Second Language) programme for all non-English speakers. 

- College Preparation / U.S. American College Board Exams preparation: Aiglon takes great care to support students in gaining entry to the best possible universities and colleges in the U.S and around the world.

- Snowsports and Languages Programme: This programme offered at Easter consists of skiing half-day for a week and four hours of language instruction a day for a week (English, French, German, Spanish)

- Summer School: The Languages & Sports summer program is offered  in July for three weeks. It is focused on morning language instruction (English, French, German, Spanish) and sports activities in the afternoon.

- IELTS exam preparation.

- Support for students with mild dyslexia and other learning difficulties.
