The Angolan Embassy has the noble task to further develop and strength the existing bilateral relations between Angola and South Africa namely regarding the political relations as well as cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, culture, science and research, education and tourism.

People interested in Visa Service, information on travel procedures, power of attorneys, marriage and birth certificates, notary service must direct inquiries to the Consular Section which is located behind the Embassy main building on Pretorious Street. Army, Air force and Navy matters must be addressed to the Military Chancellery whose office is also located behind the Embassy main building on Pretorious Street, on the Consular Section's right side. Journalists and other media related professionals interested in event coverage in Angola are encouraged to contact the Press Office before applying for the intended Visa.

The Consular Section of the Angola Embassy in South Africa provides services and assistance to Angolan citizens in South Africa as well as visa services for residents of South Africa, Lesotho, Mauritius and Madagascar.

The Civil Register and Registration Desk of the Consular Section provides citizenship services including Consular registration, travel information, weddings and assistance to Angolan citizens in the process of issuing passports, birth certificates and death registrations.

The Consular Section also offers notary services to Companies and individuals, such as the affidavit and powers of attorneys. The Visa Section provides information and support for travelers who would like to visit, work or do business in the Republic of Angola and applicants who wish to enter Angola and reside there permanently.

  • The Angolan Embassy and Consulates observe both Angolan Holidays and South African Holidays.
  • All South African documents must be translated into Portuguese and certified by the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO). In case of foreign documents other than South African, must be certified by the beneficiary’s Embassy.
  • All payments should be done by bank transfer or deposit to Bank: ABSA, Account Number: 00417300 and Account Name: Angolan Embassy. The Embassy does NOT accept visa fees by cash, credit/debit cards and personal cheques.
