The Embassy provides a wide variety of consular services. The it can assist in acquiring all types of visas for Armenia, such as Visitors visa, which is issued for tourist, business and other professional interests for short time stay; Official visa, Diplomatic visa or Transit visa that includes single entry or multiple entries visa with validity of 1 year with stay in Armenia for no more than 3 days and with possibility to extend maximum for 4 days. Armenian visas are issued for maximum 120 days with possibility to extend for another 60 days if no other term is defined by international agreements of the Republic of Armenia.

Armenian citizens leaving for a foreign country for residence of more than 6 months or residing in a foreign country for more than 6 months are required to notify in writing the appropriate embassy or consular office of the Republic of Armenia. Armenian citizens should contact the Embassy to apply for the consular registration.

Other consular services at the Embassy include processing applications for issuing and extension of passports, as well as citizenship matters.

Notary services such as Consular Legalization which purpose is to establish and to demonstrate the authenticity of signatures on the documents and acts, as well as their compliance with the laws of the host country.

The Consular section deals and consults on matter of special residency status which is granted by the President of Armenia to the foreign citizens of Armenian ancestry and also to other distinguished individuals, who have provided significant services to the Armenian state and nation and/or are engaged in economic and cultural activities in Armenia. Those granted Special Residency Status will be issued Special Armenian Passports and will no longer be required to obtain entry visas for traveling to Armenia.

In case of a lost passport, you can contact the Embassy to obtain a Certificate of Return to the Republic of Armenia which is a temporary one-way travel document issued to return to Armenia from foreign countries. The Certificate of Return issued to citizens of Armenia who lost passports, traveling to Armenia in a matter of urgency and who do not have time to exchange unusable passport (including the former Soviet Union and the Child Insert to the passport of the Republic of Armenia), as well as persons who have refugee status in Armenia, or residing in Armenia as stateless persons.
