In case of lost/stolen Austrian passport, Austrian diplomatic missions can issue a new passport.

With the establishment of the Visa Information System (VIS) in the Schengen Area, the Austrian Embassy in Copenhagen is since 20 November 2015 no longer able to issue visas.

Only the following Austrian diplomatic authorities will handle visa applications in the Schengen area:

• Munich (Germany)
• Ljubljana (Slovenia)
• Bratislava (Slovakia)

Austria and Denmark are both EU member states, therefore, citizens of Denmark do not need visas to visit Austria, and vice versa.

The Embassy is closed on Austrian public holidays.
