The Austrian Embassy in Tirana provides a wide range of consular services such as issuing visas, identity documents, providing legal assistance, voting in the elections and many more.

The Austrian citizens should contact the Embassy if:

  • they are abroad and need a new Austrian passport or an identity card
  • they are looking for information Austrian citizenship law.
  • they want to vote in the elections

Austrian passport are reissued in the Embassy only for the citizens whose main residence is in Albania. The process usually takes 4-5 weeks.

Since 15.12.2010 Albanian nationals can enter for tourism or business purposes for a period of up to 90 days per half year VISA FREE in the Schengen area. This requires that you travel with an Albanian biometric passport. At the request of border inspection posts, you must be able to provide evidence for the financing of stay and travel costs, as well as evidence of travel purpose.
