The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Austria was established in Vienna in 1995. The Embassy is also accredited to the Republic of Slovenia, the Slovak Republic, acts as the Pernament Mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan to OSCE, Vienna based United Nations organizations UNOV, UNODC, UNIDO, CTBTO, IAEA and develops cooperations with other multilateral institutions from Vienna.

The Embassy is located in the 13th District of Vienna in the famous Hans Moser Villa, which was built in 1899. The unforgettable actor lived up to his last years in this building. In 2001, the estate of the famous Austrian actor Hans Moser was purchased by the Government of Azerbaijan. The building was extensively renovated and adapted for Representation purposes. Nowadays the Embassy in Vienna is one of the biggest diplomatic missions of Azerbaijan abroad.

The Administrative and Consular Section deals with all matters related to passports, visa and judicial affairs and also all administrative matters concerning the Embassy.

Registration of State Civil Acts of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan living abroad is carried out by the consular sections of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the host states. The consular sections of the Republic of Azerbaijan carry out the following acts:

  • parenthood establishment,

  • death

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan would like to remind all nationals of foreign countries wishing to travel to Nagorno Karabakh and other occupied regions of Azerbaijan that due to continuing occupation by the armed forces of the Republic of Armenia, these areas are temporarily out of control of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Any visit without the consent of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the above-mentioned territories, which are internationally recognized as an integral part of Azerbaijan is considered as a violation of sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
