The Azerbaijani Embassy in Ottawa offers a wide range of consular services:

Note that, according to new regulations, foreign nationals who wish to visit Azerbaijan as tourist are required to apply for tourist visas via tourist companies operating in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan would like to remind all nationals of foreign countries wishing to travel to Nagorno-Karabakhand other occupied regions of Azerbaijan that due to continuing occupation by the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, these areas are temporarily out of control of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Any visit without the consent of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the abovementioned territories, which are internationally recognized as an integral part of Azerbaijan is considered as a violation of sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan and as a breach of national legislation, as well as relevant norms and principles of international law.

It is advisable for the Azerbaijani citizens who are either resident in or visiting Canada or other certain countries to register their presence with the Consular Section of the Azerbaijani Embassy or Consulate in the relevant country.

The registration will allow the consular officers to keep in touch with the Azerbaijani nationals when they are overseas and provide consular assistance in the event of an emergency, to assist Azerbaijani citizen or permanent resident in case if their Azerbaijani identification documents were stolen or lost, to identify their citizenship relation with Azerbaijan in order to they will be able to return to Azerbaijan or for other immigration issues within Canada as may be necessary.
